Attachment Method
Once you have selected the
stairway and the lift type you will probably want to determine how
the lift will be supported.á Can it be attached directly to the
wall or will special support towers be required?á If towers will be required, where will they be
located and what sort of loads will be imposed?
Again, many manufactures include
this information in design and planning guides or can
offer preliminary drawings showing the attachment
design.
Include Guide Rail Attachment Method in the Specification
If preparing bid documents, be sure
to confirm the attachment and support requirements
asá recommended
by the chosen manufacturer and local
representative.á Otherwise,
you may receive low bids that exclude support
towers.á Do not assume
that a lift can be directly mounted to hollow block or
brick.
